There are eight main islands that make up the state of Hawaii and each is unique in its own way.Hawai'i - The Big Island
Kaho'olawe - None
Kaua'i - The Garden Island
Lana'i - The Pineapple Island
Maui - The Valley Island
Moloka'i - The Friendly Island
Ni'ihau - The Forbidden Island
O'ahu - The Gathering Place

The City and County of Honolulu include 132 islands and islets northwest of Kaua'i, making it the longest land unit in the United States.
Hawaii is the only state that was once a kingdom ruled by its own native royalty.
