If your really into the very best of Japanese cuisine, then you have to check out the Kyo-Ya restaurant in Waikiki. This is not your everyday greasy chopstick joint, It was really the top of the line for us two creatures. What were we doing in a place like this? Well, it was a freebie dinner so we munched out everything we could lay our hands on.
Sushi, Sashimi, seasonal seafoods, succulent Japanese stews, it's all here. Lolo especially recommend the Sukiyaki, it's the best in town. And that idiot Lolo almost got us thrown out when he stuck his face in the pan to lick the bottom of the pot...
Be prepared to pay some bucks for this treat, but itŐs worth every penny. Just be sure to bring a few friends with you, so you can stiff them with the check (They can share the Aloha Spirit, too). Also try and reserve a traditional Japanese room on the upper floor, so you can make all the noise you want.
P.S. The bathrooms were really cool we spent alot of time in there just checking out the neat water faucet.

One day while we were shopping at Ala Moana shopping center, Mo'o pointed out this really classy restaurant. It was called Byron II, I asked Mo'o what happened to Byron I and he said "Byron I is on the other side of the shopping center, they made two so you don't have walk all around the shopping center just to eat at Byron's".
We decide to just eat at Byron II instead of walking around the mall just to see if Byron I was any nicer. But we were turned away at the door, they said shirts and footwear were required to eat at Byron II. Mo'o got all upset and was ready to start a fight with the door man, but just so happen that Aunty Leilani came walking by and Mo'o calmed down. I told her the problem and she took us shopping to by our shirts and slippers.
Finally, after 30 minutes went by we had the proper attire and was able to eat at Byron II, the food here was excellent. Their steaks, seafood, salad, and desserts were all great. Mo'o said that we would have to come here again the next time we come to Honolulu. We would have ordered everything on the menu but we only could stiff Aunty with the check, and she would kill us if we did, so maybe some other time.

We had the mood for something really spicy so we headed on down to the McCully shopping center for some Korean food. Ho man we hit the Jackpot!!! Ok Cho restaurant is the real Coconut for Korean Kim Chee, Kal Bi, Yakiniku beef, and all of the other traditional Korean delicacies. Lolo said that this Korean food is so hot that it makes his wings flap. The food here is really tasty, not watered down at all. The Kim Chee was for real hot, and they serve several different kinds along with other pickled veggies ( Namool) with every meal.
For the novice, we would suggest the Kal Bi plate which is barbecued beef ribs marinated in a sesame seed based teriyaki sauce. This is the perfect introduction dish for Korean food, but for the experienced you can try a host of other dishes from the menu. Ask for it Mekke, that means Spicy Hot, if you want to fly high like Lolo!!

You wanna taste real Hong Kong style Chinese Food, then come on down to the Chinese Cultural Plaza in Honolulu for the absolute best. We could tell it was good because almost all the customers were Chinese, and they should know whatŐs good, right?
We recommend a Dim Sum Lunch, thatŐs where the staff wheel carts of food around the restaurant floor filled with all kinds of Chinese dishes like Pork dumplings, Beef Balls, Steamed mochi rice with shrimp and water chestnut fillings,Scallop and herbs wrapped in rice paper, and the list goes on and on. I especially liked the freshly par boiled Chinese Broccoli ( Gai Lon), and the rice conjee soup. You can order great noodles too! We had the Beef Chow Fun (Dry Style), it was really ono-licious. This isnŐt your typical Chop Suey house, this place served real Hong Kong style Cantonese food. You gotta try it
